 Shocking Incident at OLOPSC Marikina High School Intramurals: Student's Tragic Death Sparks Outrage 🏀🚨  A Grade 11 student from Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College (OLOPSC) in Marikina collapsed and died during a basketball match at his school’s intramurals on February 22. 

Shann Mikhail Estaquio collapsed suddenly at 9:27 a.m. and despite swift action from the school's emergency medical responders, he passed away at the hospital around 11:06 a.m. 

The school has promised to provide financial and emotional support to Shann's family and is offering stress debriefings and grief counseling for students who witnessed the tragedy.

The school's statement emphasized that Shann's death was unforeseen and isolated, and they are reinforcing their emergency response protocols. 

However, a viral video of the incident showed Shann having a seizure, with school medical personnel administering CPR, which raised concerns from netizens and medical professionals.

The Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP) has condemned the school's handling of the situation, calling it gross negligence. They criticized the lack of qualified medical professionals on standby and accused the school of prioritizing its image over student safety. 

SCAP is working closely with the OLOPSC Senior High School Student Council and students who witnessed the incident to pursue further action.

This tragic event has sparked a heated debate on the adequacy of emergency protocols in schools and the need for better preparedness to handle medical emergencies.
