The Past in Sicily Series by Throbbing Instant is back on my shelf and in my life, and this time it brought a whole Doberman who looks like he could headline a darkwave music festival or date a vampire. Marcello is his name, and from the second I cracked open that blind box and saw the pop of red-and-black hair, I knew he was trouble. This isn’t your average “aww how cute” figure. Marcello has that moody, stylish, high-maintenance energy that makes you question your life choices... and I respect that.

Let’s start with the design. At 6.7 inches tall, Marcello is no slouch. His outfit is punk-meets-anime with shredded detailing, faux fur texture, multiple belts, and enough chains to make Hot Topic cry. The figure feels high quality — that PVC/ABS mix has just the right weight, and those metal accents? Chef’s kiss. Even his collar has a chain. Because of course it does. He’s that guy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the next release gives him a backstory involving forbidden love, secret band rehearsals in a cathedral basement, and an estranged twin brother who leads a rival band.

Is he worth the unboxing struggle? Absolutely. He might’ve made me question my patience and basic hand coordination, but once he’s assembled, he’s unstoppable. The texture, the detail, the fashion drama — it’s all peak designer toy energy. He looks amazing in photos, intimidating on a desk, and lowkey like he’ll judge you if your playlist is too mainstream.

Marcello might be from a mystery blind box, but he’s not hiding. He’s here to take over your aesthetic, your display case, and maybe your heart (if you’re into emotionally unavailable plastic dogs in leather).
